Registry Key

To create a registrykey during the installation, we can use the RegistryKey-element. You can then add one or more RegistryValue-elements in it.

<ComponentGroup ...>
	<Component Id="CMP_YourRegistryKeyEntry" Win64="yes">
		<RegistryKey Root="HKLM" Key="SOFTWARE\YourSoftware" Action="createAndRemoveOnUninstall">
			<RegistryValue Type="string" Name="YourRegistryKey" Value="YourKeyValue" KeyPath="yes"/>
		</RegistryKey>
	</Component>
</ComponentGroup>

RegistryKey-element
There’s no need to specify an id on the RegistryKey-element, as no other items in the xml references them.
